When it comes to books on investing, Rich Dad Poor Dad is one of the most renowned titles out there. Written by Robert T. Kiyosaki in 1997, this work includes several timeless investment practices and strategies. This book is intended for those thinking about investing, or just getting started. Nonetheless, if you haven’t read it, you definitely should as it may open your mind to new ideas. The two major themes that are discussed throughout the book are your mentality about money and how to make money work for you through real estate, certificate of deposits and several other streams of investing. Rich Dad Poor Dad does an excellent job of defining assets and liabilities and how to leverage them. It is an overall easy read, being about 250 pages long. The only downside to this book is that it seems to be very brief, Kiyosaki provides a great deal of of information, but doesn’t elaborate fully on much of what he brings forward. Also, the pages are on the smaller side, therefore you can easily finish the book in a weekend. Overall, I rate this book a 7/10 and one of the best quotes in the book is, “If you hate risk and worry, start early,” so if you want to start reading it now and get a discount on the book, click on the link below to get for under $7!
